This should allow you to block text messages from all email addresses with a single command (most of this spam seems to originate from a web address and not a number). Or, if it is coming from a couple specific short codes or phone numbers, you can block those as well.
I would guess other carriers offer similar functionality if you do a little searching.
I was getting fed up with the junk texts that I was getting. I followed the above link and changed my preferences with Sprint so that NO texts are sent or received by our cell phones. Took care of those turkeys!
I've heard that, like email spam, it actually makes it worse if you try to unsubscribe. They then realize it's an actual number, and use it for other purposes. I don't have any evidence to support that, however.
I have heard the same thing- so I didn't respond in any way and after about 1 week they stopped. Haven't had any now for about three weeks.
