Are they eliminating their sports columnist completely?

It depends on what kind of retirement package they got. But, whatever they got, I agree it's better than hearing "it's only a business decision, but we need to go a different direction"-- hit the door.

They will replace Hansen with someone half his age for half his pay. With benefits, a pretty good gig for a twentysomething whippersnapper.
The Register will be around a lot longer than you will be.

Those guys are so good, they won't have a problem finding work somewhere else - just like SK.

O M G. Where am I going to get yesterday's news from now?
Seriously though, I don't like the Register, but it's sad to see a once great paper going down in flames. I guess you either get with the times or the times get on without you.

Hey Hansen, Nelson called. He said Ha - Ha from JT and the rest of the ISU fanbase.
Oh, and so long to Witosky too. Didn't he have close ties to the U of I legal cover-up team?

Yes that internet thing just may not work out.

Have I read anything of hers lately? No. My time is valuable to me* and I know when to cut my losses. *Then again, what am I doing on here??? "There are five real good recruits in the state. Witosky's job was pretty much to be the ******* that found any wrong doing and make a huge story about it, and for the most part, he did an OK job at that. I don't think anyone would want to see Witosky like articles over here...
