You are right on it. Go with the tippmann 98 no question. I bought mine right around 98 when it came out and it has always worked no problem whenever I have used since. Which admitedly is not a whole lot, but generally once a year.
And with a simple hex screwdriver in your gear, you can easily tweak the velocity you are firing for desired level.
