Has anyone seen these things? I watch Hulu a lot and they are driving me crazy. Stupid over the top liberal douchie ads. Why on earth would they do this???

You might want to rethink your strategy. The $12,000 difference in price will buy a lot of gas. And I average about 40 mpg with my Corolla.
Wasn't there an article someone posted here recently that at $4/gallon, (assuming 12K miles/year) it would take the average Prius owner over 7 years to break even versus a fuel-efficient, non-hybrid vehicle, like a corolla?
For the most part (unless the buyers are putting on tons of miles), Prius owners' primary reason for purchasing that vehicle is not economics, it's because they want to be environmentally friendly (and yes, there is still a discussion about the batteries' effect on the environment)
I drove by a guy driving a Prius one time in a snow bank. Normally I would stop but I assumed he saved enough on gas money to afford a tow truck. So I kept driving in my V8 Hemi powered charger.
