Re: ***Official Friday Confession Thread***
For work tomorrow, I'm supposed to be in the field planting corn, but I'd really like to take the afternoon off and brew beer. It's raining on our field right now, and I'm cheering for the rain.

I don't feel bad about it at all. I have one of the best group project stories of all time. (LONG but worth it)
ENGR 160 project, group consisted of isukendall, "Mike", Mike's girlfriend who was a music major but somehow was taking ENGR 160 (guessing to keep tabs on Mike), and a foreign girl who barely spoke English.
Our teacher made us all take turns with certain roles in the project: project design, data collection, writing, and a project manager. My job was the writer, the foreign girl was the manager. Obviously I could see that I would have to do a good job with the writing. That week, I had two midterms and buddies coming into town to party. I wrote a rough draft and sent it to the group Friday afternoon. An hour later, I get a phone call from Mike's girlfriend saying that the draft was "really rough" as it wasn't a finished product (due on Monday mind you). She insisted that I write a finished copy and that the group meet at 1pm on Saturday afternoon. I party with my buddies, and after they pass out around 2am I finish the draft, polished and finished, and send it out. I get another phone call at 8:30 am, again from the girlfriend who is not an engineering major. According to her, the draft was "completely unacceptable" and we needed to meet at 10am now, because "it's going to take a lot of time to get this right." We agree to meet at her dorm room.
Go to dorm room in Friley. She repainted the entire room pink, and had a solo room. Stuffed animals everywhere. This girl was scary high maintenance. She tells me that the draft looked "like a fifth grader could have written it" and that "it will take at least the next two days to fix what I screwed up." Obviously I was offended. I stuck up for myself. It became elevated. Mike got into it. He said "this project is a big part of our grade for the class, which can be a big part of my GPA, which can make a big difference in me getting a job someday". I told Mike he was a really nice guy (he was), but that was ridiculous and the only reason he agreed was because of his girlfriend who is obviously "a huge f*ing b****". (Disclaimer: I normally do not call women such things, but I felt it was warranted in this circumstance). She was shocked: apparently nobody had ever called her out. She promptly told me that Mike was going to beat me up. It elevated even more. She ordered me to leave, and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. I said that I would leave, but informed her of the irony that I was ordered to come over to her room, and now am being ordered to leave. I told them to do what they wanted with it, but I was done working on it and they could screw me on the contribution grade if they wanted to.
She called me the next day (Sunday), and informed me that they talked to the prof and explained that our group didn't work out, and that we would turn in the assignment separately, because they didn't want to be associated with my work. And she "highly suggests that I spend several hours fixing the paper, because we're going to be working on this all day, and to be honest it needs the work. We'll be in the Marston lab, and if you need help getting the data, that's fine, but we're not going to do it for you."
I turned it in separately after not doing a thing to it. Not sure what they got, but I got a 98. Bet they're glad they spent a whole day improving on that. -

Re: ***Official Friday Confession Thread***
I've returned to managing online sports teams..go me
I won't be playing in many of the games on here as a result of it. (mafia, haxball, whatnot) as a result as I won't have time to do both. (I'll play once in awhile, my old friend got me into the manager game I use to be good at).
Since half the people don't give a **** about that, I can't stand the moving out of Friley for the summer and signing all the paperwork, then returning to Friley in like 2 months..stupid **** like that at Iowa State is really annoying and I wish it was simpler. No need to over complicate stuff like that in my book.
