Re: Favorite History/TruTV show?
One show that ive seen a couple of times is American Diggers with former WCW wrestler Rick Savage. Huge DB and I don't find the show interesting at all.
I think it may be on spike tho.

Re: Favorite History/TruTV show?
I enjoy watching Pawn Stars and American Pickers... But both shows just seem a little too staged

I like actually learning things, so How the States got their shapes.

Re: Favorite History/TruTV show?
History Channel used to be good. I see tomorrow they have a marathon of "Only in America with Larry the cable guy" and a bunch of crappy reality shows. They show history like MTV shows music.

The fact is that documentaries don't pull in the ratings and ad revenue like the mindless "reality" shows have in recent years, so that is where the focus has been. It'll cycle back eventually.

Storage Wars!
Also... for those raggin on the guys on Pawn Stars being full of themselves yet voting for American Pickers, you all might want to meet those two in person, been there, done that, yikes.

I remember when the History channel was mocked as the Hitler channel because all they ever showed was WWII documentaries, while yes, the reality stuff is a bit ridiculous (Ax men and Ice Road truckers type of shows that have zero to do with history in any way shape or form) Shows like Pawn Stars and American Pickers at least givebits and pieces of history when they talk about the items.
The flaw in this thread was putting TruTV stuff with the History Channel stuff.

I'm a big fan of Swamp People but also really like AxeMen

Re: Favorite History/TruTV show?
So wait...no Operation Repo, Lizard Lick, Hardcore Pawn, or Impractical Jokers? Are any of the shows listed even on TruTV?
Good times on Hawkeyenation.com after the 2010 Wisconsin Game! -
Re: Favorite History/TruTV show?
Top Shot is the only reality/competition/elimination show on television that doesn't ****** things or leave the outcome to judges and stuff that can't be shown on television. Its just slow motion bullet cinematography and stuff exploding.
