One show that ive seen a couple of times is American Diggers with former WCW wrestler Rick Savage. Huge DB and I don't find the show interesting at all.
I think it may be on spike tho.
ya I saw previews for it and was a little intrigued, so I watched an episode. It's terrible.
The big dude just stands around for half an hour waiting to say his catch phrase 'BOOM BABY' over a $100 item. I don't understand how they make any money. The episode I saw they spent 2 days digging a site with 2-3 large machinery brought in with like 5 guys on the staff, and found around $1200 worth of stuff they sold for like $600. Then they cut 30% of that to the land owner.
And these shows are suppose to depict the rare and most expensive finds, eesh.
I enjoy watching Pawn Stars and American Pickers... But both shows just seem a little too staged
I don't think American Pickers is staged too much. I think when they meet the person, that is staged, but other than that i don't think so. Pawn Stars I think at times is when they mess around obviously. The most staged show is Hardcore Pawn. Thats awful.

A buddy of mine had one of his customers on Pickers and was told it is very staged.
A pre pick crew came out ahead of the guys and made basically a chart of what items were where. They acted like they were uncovering things but they knew what items were in the sheds.
Basically it started by this guy contacting the show and they send a list of things that they want. You then check off what items you think you have and if you have enough items the pre show crew comes out and decides if you have enough stuff to be on the show.
The show he was on it was portrayed that they were just driving by and thought it looked like a good place to pick.
