I'm going with bacon explosion tomorrow. When I smoke whole chicken, I do the beer can method and it works really well.
A tip that I have is, do two at a time. You can lean the birds up against each other, so they don't tip over.

I use a Traeger you can pick them up at Arnold Motor supplies. I have the lil tex elite the digital thermomitor is a must.

Outside of added more wood, I was surprised at how good it turned out, as I did very little. The breasts (giggity) were moist and the legs and thighs were falling off the bone.
Good idea on the two chickens. Mine leaned to the left when it was done.

Had some sirloin steak. Also threw some zucchini, squash, and red pepper in a wire basket. I covered with tin foil, and put it on the top rack of the grill and let it cook while the steaks were going.
