Hello, I need some help. I was in Ames this weekend for graduation and got hit with a public intox. This was my second so I am charged with a serious misdemeaner. The first public intox came when I was in college five years ago.

Yes I was. I took a cab to where I was staying and was dropped off a block early. Was walking to the house and was stopped because I was staggering. I feel like a complete idiot and am so mad at myself. I am just trying to figure out how to make the best of a bad situation, that I put myself in.

Well, it hard of hard to fight something when all of the evidence is pointing towards guilty. You were charged with public intoxication because you were intoxicated in public. Not much you can do.

I have a feeling he just wants the lawyer to try and plead it down. Probley harder to do without a lawyer, but I don't know that.

Yeah the best legal advise comes from an non-attorney on the internet. What often seems simple is hardly simple. The state still bears the burden of proof.
