What a subjective drink to rate. I would compare Bloodies to chili, everyone has their own personal style. Some like it very spicy, some like it thicker, some like it thinner. Just depends on your own liking.

If you get north of Des Moines, the Twin Anchors golf course (by Colo on Hwy 30) has awesome ones as well. No grilled food in them but a great homemade mix recipe.

Whenever there is a fav drink, fav restaurant, best burger, etc. thread and the OP is trying to ask it for a is specific city/area, you can always count on the perverbial contribution(s) -- "...yeah, but...if you're ever in North Platte, (for example), the best ..."

Never had one here but my buddy is a big Sunday morning breakfast bloody mary guy & says that the highland park country club has one of the best he has had. Its a dive that has some good food

I think I've seen an ad for Bloody Mary bar at Whiskey River in Ames. Anyone tried that?
