Re: Any Black Keys fans out there

The production done by Danger Mouse over the last three studio albums has steered them into the hook-filled world in which they currently live and is probably the single most important reason for their new-found successes in the mass market.

I've heard a lot of people bemoaning their new direction and likening it to Modest Mouse's unprecidented transformation from underground indie darlings into the behemoths they were in the mid 00's with the addition of Johnny Marr into the band.

I think it's great. I'm a fan of their earlier works and the new stuff is a little too accessible for me but it's exciting to see a whole slew of people getting into this band who would have never had the chance/experience before.

I agree with the general sentiment of this post (I like the new stuff quite a bit though; it rocks regardless of accessibility).

When you walk into a crappy bar full of popped-collared bros and see drunk chicks shaking their ***** to "Gold on the Ceiling" you can't help but think good taste is making a comeback.
