So, Officially done with HS, Now What?

I officially graduated from Ankeny on Sunday and it was a great feeling to be done. I am set to go to college out of state and I have a summer job lined up, with decent pay, out of state.

What is there to look forward to as my first year of college rolls up? Might as well throw in the general college stuff there is to look forward to during the first year.

    Don't worry, I'll be repping ISU a lot .

I was in Natchitoches once, and accidentally referred to it as "Nacogdoches" around some of the locals. They don't like that. Very quick to correct me.

It's the time of year where people fawn over h.s. graduates as if it's a major accomplishment. It's almost impossible to not graduate high school. Think about who drops out: the worst of the worst. Everybody else graduates. Look at your senior class composite photo and there will be many kids you look at and say: how the **** did they graduate? Yet they did.

So I guess what I am saying is, don't make it out to be such a big deal in your mind. It's not. You'll work, you'll go to school, no different than before. Same ol' same ol'.

20% of our class didn't graduate so that made me LOL. I laughed when people took pictures of their diploma and put it on facebook. I'll be satisfied when I get my paper from college.

Senolcyc's own high school graduation was marred by an unfortunate accident resulting in a trip to the emergency room, after he sat down too quickly and was "impaled" on a mortar board. Despite the freak nature of the incident, the resulting surgery, therapy sessions, and alimentary ailments, have left Senolcyc bitter toward the whole prospect of high school graduation, and now if someone even hums a few bars of "Pomp and Circumstance" in his vicinity, he goes into convulsions. You can hardly blame him. Poor kid.
