The price depends on how much needs to be removed, and quality depends on a number of things. Maybe if you say what the tattoo is along with the location I can provide some better insight. -

Check out the cities w/ NBA teams. There could be lots of places that do this in those cities, or none.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -

Re: Tattoo removal...
Hope it does not involve the color green.
I had one removed a couple of years back and that color is very resistant to removal. Took me 15 sessions at $100 a pop.

Re: Tattoo removal...
I know a lot about this subject. There are many factors that determine the efficacy of the treatment.
First, it has to be the right kind of laser. If the treatment provider isn't using a "Q-switched Nd:YAG" laser, it probably won't work well. Make sure that is what they are using and the manufacturer is ConBio. The gold standard for tattoo removal is the ConBio MedLite C6. If they are using anything other than a MedLite, then save your money.
Secondly, the color of the ink has a lot to do with the efficacy of treatment. If your tattoo is dark in color, such as black or dark blue, you will get much better results than trying to remove bright colors such as red, yellow, orange, etc.
The cost will vary depending on the quality of the tattoo and of course size. You're probably looking at at least 6-8 treatments and a cost of at least $1,200+ for an average sized tattoo.
Also, the treatments are painful. I've had just about every laser treatment available, and tattoo removal is probably the worst. I had the ability to have free treatments and I decided after two treatments that between the pain, and the healing time afterwards, that it just wasn't worth it (and it was free).
If your tattoo is visible to the public, causing you problems in your career, or has something such as an ex's name then it's probably worth looking into.
If you just regret your tattoo, but it's in a place where it's rarely seen, then you might not have enough motivation to actually go through with it.
