CYC
Did anyone ever go to this camp as a kid? It's pretty awesome.

Re: CYC
I'm actually going to be media specialist for CYC Minnesota this summer. My gf talks about it all the time since she went there as a kid and has been a camp counselor/administrative assistant the last few years, and she just absolutely loves it.
Do you know why I put up with this 'pitiful job', Mr. Donaghy, why I fetch these folks' lunches and clean up their barfs? Cause they make television. And more then jazz, or musical theater, or morbid obesity, television is the true American artform. -
Re:CYC
It's OK. The director is a dork.

I think you'll like it, coming from the fact that I don't know you. I know that I like it. Although, we as counselors broke the rules for our kids (we had a "war" with another cabin). It was insane, we took Axe spray bottles and duct tape, and threw them in the other cabin. This was all at 3 AM

I have heard a lot of good things, and I am looking forward to it.

Re: CYC
Catholic Youth Camp Minnesota actually has no affiliation with CYC Iowa.... they just happen to have the same name. I went to Iowa as a kid and counseled there for about 4 years. I have worked at the Minnesota camp for the past 3 summers, this summer being my 4th- where they have full time staff and counselors.
As for the director, CYC Iowa has a new Executive Director- Beth Ashby this year, but they do have weekly directors- those are probably the goofy ones you are talking about!
Overall both camps are fun, but offer different types of experiences.
