Re: Idiocy at a fast food restaurant
I like it when I go to Hardees or Sonic and order a bacon cheeseburger with just ketchup. Once in a while I get the response "Do you still want cheese and bacon on that?". No, I want to pay for a bacon cheeseburger so I can get a plain hamburger.

Would've been easier for all parties involved..... This man knows how to order. The drive-thru workers make 100s of the same sandwiches and combos all day, and no matter how bright, they probably get into some sort of zone where they don't actively think about every sandwich or order. So don't order a "combo" if you don't want THE combo!
I don't think I've ever had a fast food order screwed up since I've been in California. Sometimes they barely speak English, but still, I have to give credit where credit is due.

I think the op needs some help from JB of Tenacious D. He is the master of order customization. Advise at 35 seconds.

Re: Idiocy at a fast food restaurant
I had a kid behind the counter at a Taco Bell threaten to call the cops on me for trying to pass him fake money.
I have a collection of $2 bills that my grandfather had given me over the years and decided to burn a couple instead of taking cash out. None the less, I told the guy to go ahead and call the cops. The manager over heard the discussion and came over, asked the problem and promptly sent the kid to the back. He then gave me my order and didn't charge me. I said, "Hey, I really appreciate this, but that kid isn't going to be putting my order together is he?" The manager laughed and then said, "No, I'm going to go have a talk with him now."
As others have said above, there is a reason these people work fast food.

She explains that she never realized that the name had anything to do with the restaurant, she thought it was like "thousand island", it's the same everywhere.
Love her, but she can be a ditz at times. Holy ****.

But I guess it makes you feel better to be a **** in front of the kid with your smart*** comment about him not making your food and then brag about how much smarter you are than him on an internet forum.
At least this kid is working, rather than expecting you and I to give him money via social programs.

Would've been easier for all parties involved..... That sounds way too easy. We need to make things more complicated so the odds of getting the order right are less.

At least this kid is working, rather than expecting you and I to give him money via social programs. YEah, it does make me feel good. It was real money, and when you job is to take money from a customer, you better know what real money is.
I guess you missed the part where he was going to call the cops on me. Not, "Let me get my manager" not "Let me talk to someone else about this." He went right to the CALL THE COPS. All I wanted was a couple of tacos and a drink. I wasn't being a **** until his stupidity overwhelmed my normal casual demeanor.
Maybe it was you at the Taco Bell huh? In the end, my comment wasn't about his ability to tell a $2 bill from a fake bill. It was about his attitude towards me and the fact that after getting chastised by his manager (not my doing mind you, I didn't say, "Get a Manager" he was being loud enough about calling the cops his manager heard this) So, I was worried that him making my food would include some spit and snot. The reason he's working at a Taco Bell and probably not somewhere better is because his first reaction is to blast the customer instead of maybe thinking, "Oh ****, what if I'm wrong."

Re: Idiocy at a fast food restaurant
I love paying with a large bill and ones with proper change to make sure I dont get more ones back and then watching them stew when they cant figure out why I paid $22.37 for the $7.37 meal. If they ask I just simply say "I like 5 dollar bills". It can be amazing sometimes.

Ok, you are smarter and more experienced than a HS kid who is learning to deal with customers for the first time in his life.
Maybe he didn't handle it the right way, but you could have just said, "OK forget it, I'll pay with this $20." But instead you had to be handle yourself like a jerk.
He's 15. What's your excuse?
Keep in mind that if everyone was a high IQ caliber worker, you would pay 5x for your burger as they would demand to be paid as such.
