Needing a replacement cell phone for my daughter. Prefeereed to be a slider or with full keyboard for easy texting.

Verizon network... age if phone doesn't matter. PM if able to sell/give it away.

My wife has the same issue. She wants a keyboard for texting but doesn't want to pay $9.99 / month for a data plan she doesn't use. According to the salesman at the store, you cannot get a keyboard without a data plan. We're thinking of dropping Verizon because of it.

Strongly recommend the Intensity II if you can get one. Been an owner for quite a while, easy to use and no issues.

You may want to check around before making the move. I don't know for sure, but I think other carriers may have similar requirements.

Pretty sure you can get any Verizon phone activated without a data plan. You just can't buy a smartphone from them at the discounted price without a data plan. If you buy a phone full price or buy a second hand phone you shouldn't have to get a data plan. Check with Verizon to verify though.
