Bicycle Repair ?
Anyone repair their own bicycles? I recently bought a Nishiki Olympic 12 speed road bike off of Craigslist. Went to a ride last night, got home and tried to adjust the headset up a bit and I am now having a hell of a time trying to get it back together.
Any websites or recommendations?

Re: Bicycle Repair ?
I'm far from an expert, but ParkTool has a lot of good bike repair info. if you want to check it out. I'm getting into bike repair in my spare time and bought a bike repair stand (to be able to get the bike off the ground when working on it) and ParkTool's "BIG BLUE BOOK OF BICYCLE REPAIR."
There's also some good information on their blog (see below).... Park Tool Co. » ParkTool Blog
If that info. doesn't help, you may need to get some info. directly from the manufacturer of the bike you're working on (Nishiki).

Re: Bicycle Repair ?
What exactly do you mean? You tried to adjust it up. The headset dosent really make it up its controls the play in the fork/frame connection. Did you try and move the stem up?

This might help. I'm assuming it has a quill stem. How to Adjust Handlebar Height | Trails.com -

We moved the stem up so I wasn't leaning so far forward while riding. We were able to adjust it and put the locknut back on but we were unable to screw in the cap. We thought we'd just need to adjust the stem down farther but ultimately we got it stuck...haha. I probably should just take it in but I want to do it myself!

I'm not sure how you got it stuck. It seems like it would be pretty difficult to get it stuck.
