Number 7 Brewing Company
Anyone have the DL on this place? Has anybody been able to sample their beer yet? Looking forward to this place opening up. Should be a great addition to the uptown Ankeny area! Number 7 Brewing Company -
Re: Number 7 Brewing Company
Is this going in the old "downtown" area of Ankeny? Should be a nice addition. Ankeny could really use some more local flavor.
Has that new downtown brewery opened yet? The one that's supposed to be related to Latin King?

I hope it's good because I'd rather drive to Ankeny for good beer than drink the garbage at Olde Main.

You lock your lips, completely disagree. -

Re: Number 7 Brewing Company
True: for dollar pint night, you can't go wrong at Olde Main. The frustrating thing to me is the inconsistency. I can order the same beer on two separate visits and have it taste completely different. I don't know why that is.
I've found the Clone Ale to be the most agreeable to me.

Re: Number 7 Brewing Company
I love Olde Main at the brewery, and I've never had a bad draw on tap at another, but the bottles are less than consistent.
Their seasonals are better than the flagship beers too. Not sure why.

Re: Number 7 Brewing Company
I'm not a huge fan of Olde Main's beer. I think there food is a little overpriced for what you get as well, the atmosphere is fun though. I think Raccoon River in downtown Des Moines has really good home brewed beer, check it out if you haven't been

I for one, LOVE all the DSM Craft Brewing Options. We are witnessing the golden age of beer -

It frustrates me very much that the local brewery can't brew a good beer. And why would they attempt to brew an IPA when they have such favorites as lemontyme and reindeer fuel to offer? Although I'm sure any IPA they try would be awful.
Yeah, it's bad.
