I have experience with all windows products since windows 98. If you are familiar with windows there really shouldn't be an issue. There might be a 1 minute learning curve for navigation, but that's it.
You can get a shell for Windows 8 to make it look and behave like Win 7, while still taking advantage of Win 8's efficiency, 15 second reboots, etc.
I installed it 15 minutes after installing Win 8.
