I know there have been complaints about his voice, but once seen in it's entirety- people will be shocked by Tom Hardy's transformation into Bane..I think the Voice is perfect, creepy, violent, yet sophisticated. Knightfall/Returns Def.-notice the collapsed bridges, and wall of cars blocking exits to Gotham-I'm getting more of a "No Man's Land" Feel..All great, dark, stories

for the record the Riddler was supposed to be the villain in the newest batman with Leo Dicaprio in that role, but Nolan had a different vision and went a different route with it. Supposedly the studio is sitting with a Ridler/Leo ****** that they are pitching to other directors.
apparently a word that rhymes with crypt and means dialogue for a movie or play is illegal on here. Ohhh CF....

The WB have had there idea's for all of the films, but Nolan chose to go his own way with his own story, which i fully trust in..In terms of another film, they are planning on a Batman Reboot(with a new director, CN will stay on to produce) for 2014-15 to fit into a Justice League movie

Nolan's take on The Caped Crusader was one built on realism and humanity and the fact that Bruce Wayne wasn't shocked by Gamma Radiation or was a Norse Demigod, that he was a troubled man wanting to do the right thing for his city, and each film has dove more into his psychology. The Nolan films take a look at a different emotion in each of the Films Batman Begins-Fear, The Dark Knight-Rage, and TDKR, Pain. The Dark Knight trilogy goes beyond the comic book genre because of it's realism, (What some call darkness) but that is what Batman is supposed to be about. I found the Avengers, Iron Man, The Hulk, all entertaining-but in a Transformers sort of way-plenty of action and explosions to keep your attention (Along with Megan Fox and Scarlett Johanssen)but an overall lacking plot built to cater to the minds of 10 year olds and up. The Dark Knight Films transcend that with excellent plots, stories, acting, themes, and cinematography (Chris Nolan will be at a loss with Wally Phister leaving his side to direct) and this is why you don't have to be a comic book fan to enjoy them. I'm certainly not I think Nolan's a great director but some credit has to be given to the writers and artists who took Batman in this direction to begin with in the late 80s up to today (Frank Miller, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, really dozens of people).
The Batman films really aren't drastically different than much of the Batman comics of the past 20 years (which is good). It will be interesting if they do Justice League if they lighten up Batman or darken the other heroes to fit the Nolan-verse or whatever it's called.

Re: Prometheus summer's best flick? I think so.
I would like to add that while we know Bane and Catwoman are bad guys in the The Dark Knight Rises, I have a feeling that there will be one more villain in TDKR. I feel it surrounds Marion Cotillard's character Miranda Tate most suspect she is either Talia Al Ghul or Poison Ivy. Cotillard describes Tate as an ecologically minded businesswoman fascinated by Wayne Enterprises. To me it could be either one, but I think she is villain maybe not tho. I think Freeze would be a good villain for the series, but the movie would be a lot more similar to Batman Begins than Dark Knight. Instead of facing the criminally insane Joker, he would be facing a morally ambiguous enemy like Ra's al Guhl. There would probably have to be another villain in the mix to make it work right, but I see a Mr. Freeze who is committing crimes but is not violent. Batman tries to figure out what's going on, eventually stumbling into a story similar to the Heart of Ice story. Batman (thinking he's learned his lesson from putting too much trust in Harvey Dent) locks Freeze away in Arkham. Crimes keep being committed and we discover that someone else is out there, basically using Freeze as cover for bigger badder plans. At a critical moment, Batman has to release Freeze to help him out. Freeze then goes off to live in Antartica working on medical research and Batman starts to think things might turn around after all. The one that's so awful it almost took down George Clooney's career?

I would hope that Nolan is smart enough to learn from the examples of the 90's bat movies, Spiderman 3, and X-men 3 that shoving too many new characters into your sequels is a sure-fire way to make a muddled mess instead of a satisfying conclusion.

I thought that X1 was decent, X2, Woverine and First Class were OK and X3 was bad. If I were to rate comic book movies:
1. Avengers
2. TDK
3. Iron Man 1
4. Batman (1989)
5. Thor
6. Batman Begins
7. X1
8. Spiderman 2
9. X2
10. Wolverine

10. Wolverine I think the deal with first class was that they were trying to keep it in the same continuity with the other X-men movies, so obviously you couldn't have the comic book original X-men, because they were already used in movies set 50+ years later.
Honestly, after the disappointments of X3 and Wolverine, I think they would have been better off to just reboot it starting in the 50's, if they were going to go that route, but I'm sure there would have been some backlash to rebooting the franchise so soon after the last movie (see this year's new Spiderman).

I'm sorry, but even though his Batman films are more "realistic" than the Marvel films, they're pretty far from being realistic. I mean, we ARE talking about a guy running around in a bat suit fighting crime.

Agree with everything except this. Terrible movie.
Fat joker combined with the film shot on tiny sets and poor action. Pretty awesome list!

I'll just say I've always loved Mr. Freeze and I don't mind campy movies every now and then.

Nolan Bat films are essentially "Heat" with a superhero.
The Marvel universe are much more comic book/fantastical-like.
Nolan does deserve worship however. His films are pretty amazing.
