Yeah. The casting directors for Superman Returns found a guy that looked a lot like Reeves, but for a "sequel" the writers didn't really build on the story at all.
I've never liked any of the Spiderman movies, mostly because I just don't care about the story of Peter Parker. The CGI really killed it for me, too.
I think people liked the Dark Knight so much because it excelled where those two franchises failed. Kind of sad, but it was refreshing to see a believable, dark story that wasn't dumbed down for the kids. It wasn't overkilled by a ton of CGI, either.
I understand they kept making these superhero movies because they make money, but just because they make money does not mean they are good. Just my opinion.
I didn't see much of TDK filming, but I got to spy in on A TON of the filming of Batman Begins in Chicago. We watched them film a scene with Katie Holmes on one of the bridges, filming some stuff on and around the Merchandise Mart (that became the perched pose overlooking Gotham) and with helicopters up and down the river along Wacker. The coolest part was seeing three vehicles with tarps on them, seeing one taken off to reveal what was obviously the new tank-like Batmobile. I live near downtown and had an erratic schedule so it wasn't a big deal for me to be down there at 4am checking it all out.
The Batman movies were all filmed pretty hush hush and only at night, people didn't really know the scope of it for Batman Begins and they did a good job of hiding when and where the TDK shooting would be. The recent Transformers sequel was like they turned downtown into a war zone for a few weeks. Everybody saw that. You couldn't avoid it. I saw Patrick Dempsey and Shia on top of a flaming pile of war zone junk one day just trying to get somewhere I needed to be for work.
Thor was surprisingly awesome (was hard to keep out of my top 10) .... Never a huge Thor fan, thought it might be bad like DareDevil, turned out great.
I don't understand the Thor love. The movie was pretty weak and probably should have been longer. It ended very abruptly. His change of heart and apparent relationship with Natalie Portman happened way too suddenly.
It was an entertaining movie and a necessary set up for the Avengers, but it was weak overall.

That was my only problem with the Thor movie. His feelings about Earth changed really quickly and wasn't really believable. I wish they would have written so he would have spent more time on earth before his change of heart. But other than that I thought they did a good job with his story. And Anthony Hopkins was pretty awesome as Odin.
