Re: Nancy Sebring - DM Superintendant resigns
I think the only fair solution is that she be stoned.

The important thing is to keep her away from all children. Probably keep your pets away too because of the bestiality risk. At this point I don't believe there is any risk of cannibalism but I'll wait for the experts in this thread to weigh in on that.

Are we going to start looking for all the educators or administrators who have had affairs and force them to resign? What about those that have cheated on their taxes, or on an exam in college? Breaking the speed limit? Passing a stopped school bus?
I could see a superintendent getting into big trouble for this!

So I read the emails and they make me sad if only because they sound like a Cat lady who's found hope wrote them.

Re: Nancy Sebring - DM Superintendant resigns
Fact is, she's a superintendent and these emails are public now. Every high school kid at the schools she would in charge of has access to these. Whether you think anything she did was wrong, fine, poor judgement, whatever; high school kids will exploit something like this.

What upsets me the most is that they passed on hiring Dr. Linda Lane (now Superintendent of Pitt, PA public schools) for this Sebring. This makes it even more evident.

Was she not superintendent of the entire school district, including high schools? Those "children" include high school students of legal age.
Sebring was so in need of male affection that she knowingly broke district policies to such an extent that it cost her job in order to meet that need. Why is it so difficult to fathom that in the quest to meet her needs, she might solicit those affections from a male high school student? Because it's against the rules? She's already demonstrated complete disregard for rules her quest for male affection. It's not like teachers and high school students having sex is something that is impossible and has never happened before. Strawman argument, since the commission of the acts in themselves you mention do not necessitate breaking school policy...policy that Sebring broke.

Hell, back then probably Sebring herself would have considered the idea ludicrous.

Would you like me to replace "children" with "students"? My point is the same, making poor judgments regarding her personal relationship with her boyfriend does not predispose someone to having inappropriate relations with a student.
Are all teachers who choose to have an affair, or sleep with a married man also more likely to sleep with a student? What about ones who break a school policy, are they all more likely to sleep with children? How many teachers or administrators do you suppose have had affairs while employed by the school district but went undiscovered?
Strawman argument, since the commission of the acts in themselves you mention do not necessitate breaking school policy...policy that Sebring broke.
My apologies, that was a poor argument. My overarching point that breaking a school policy by emailing your boyfriend does not make you more likely to sleep with a student still stands, however.

Re: Nancy Sebring - DM Superintendant resigns
I side w/ jbh & cyclonestate78. She very well could have never even thought about being with a student, but the fact that she was willing to break policy and use organizational email to send these messages makes you certainly question things.

Re: Nancy Sebring - DM Superintendant resigns
I am 100% ok with the fact that she did something against policy, got caught, and was forced or chose to resign. No problems with that. But the line of thinking brought up by Cyclonestate78 that breaking that policy in and of itself somehow makes her more of a threat to sleep with a student is just completely insane.
