Moving to DM area, need sports talk radio help.
What are the options in the DM area for sports talk radio throughout the day? Are there Cyclone and Fawkeye heavy stations? I work in Omaha(live on the good side of the river though!) and enjoy calling the local station to give Huskers a little heck. Are some programs "caller friendly"? Thanks

They have taken several big "lumps" over the last couple years and always seem to come out unscathed.
I do really miss Miller & Deace though.

Many on here will be critical of 1460 kxno at times, but I don't understand why. I enjoy Travis & Tim on the way to work and Miller & Brinson on the way home.

mix in a little Marty Tirrell on 1700 once in a while for a different perspective and different voices.

Murph and Andy at 2-4 are great. Add in some Chris Hassel occasionally and its golden.

Re: Moving to DM area, need sports talk radio help.
It's slim pickings---
1. Your first show is Travis and Tim on KXNO from 6-8. I turn it on in the morning when I wake up and listen to it as long as I can stand it. Maybe 15 minutes. Usually in those 15 minutes they don't manage to get around to talking any sports. If by chance they start talking sports, it is nothing that most people would be interested in. They are both idiots.
2. Murph and Andy-KXNO 2-4. They are very talented and funny. I wish they did mornings or drive time, but they are well worth listening to. They don't always talk sports, but they at least talk about interesting things.
3. Miller and Brinson-KXNO 4-7. I really like Ken Miller. He's almost always fair to Iowa State and he mostly talks about stuff that is interesting and relevent in Iowa and sports. Brinson is annoying and tries to hard to be 'cool'. He's not and he should just own that. Probably the funniest thing about him is that I picture Ken Miller rolling his eyes and Jim about 40 times an hour.
4. Cotler and Garman on 1700 from maybe 11-1. I hardly ever listen to this. I'll check their podcasts every once in a while to see if they've had any one interesting on there. I think they interview Eric Heft during football and basketball season and they'll get some local person every once in a while that no one else does. Cotler is awkward and Garman is a Hawk, so I like to avoid their conversations.
5. Marty on 1700--sometime in the afternoon. I don't really listen to this much at all. The few times I have he has Bob Ryan on. I don't really mind Marty, but he was probably better with Miller.
Bottom line the sports radio in DM is not great. Some will say they miss Miller and Deace, but I don't really.

Thanks I saw someone else's post that mentioned Ken Miller being the most fair radio voice around here, and I think that's spot on.
I think Murph and Andy in the afternoons can be funny sometimes. Travis and Tim are tolerable on days when they actually talk about sports and don't work the Big 10 into the conversation every 10 minutes.
Marty Tirrell on 1700 is pretty bad, unless you like stale information/opinions and arguing for the sake of arguing.

I really wish murph n Andy booted the loser chick from the apprentice, "Hey tana... Go **** yourself"! Hazzle Dazzle needs his own show.

I actually almost posted something to that effect earlier. But, with a slightly softer tone. But I agree completely. The "Hey Tana" segment has to go.
And AD's "week in unnecessary Iowa Censorship" every Friday afternoon blows Jimmy Kimmel's version out of the water!

Murph and Andy are the only worthwhile listen, in my opinion.

Is Travis of "Travis and Tim" Travis Justice by chance?
