Grilling fresh pineapple
Got some ribeyes and sweet corn for the grill tonight.
Picked up a fresh pinapple and wanted to try it on the grill (first time). Any tips, or suggestions? Is sticking to the grill an issue or does it release as it cooks like meat?

Goes great with grilled Snickers bars
I imagine it would need to be inside something like foil. I bet it would be good to use Pineapple to infuse something else.

Re: Grilling fresh pineapple
I've never had a problem with it sticking to the grill. You might want to toss the pineapple with brown sugar before you throw it on the grill. The sugar caramelizes after a couple minutes on each side and adds a nice dimension.

Re: Grilling fresh pineapple
If you need to grill a pineapple, you can always use the tried and true techniques. Put it in a dark room across a table from you with a solitary light over it. Maybe bring in a buddy and use the good cop/bad cop scheme. Also, sleep deprivation will sometime get the pineapple perp to break down and confess.

Re: Grilling fresh pineapple
Slice it into 1/4" thick segments and marinate it.
I'm not near my recipe box, but think I use something like: - 1 c rum
- 1 TBSP brown sugar
- 1 TSP ginger
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp nutmeg
It is unbelieviably good. And to the OP it doesn't stick at all. Very easy to work with.

Do you cut the skin and the middle out, or leave it on?

Re: Grilling fresh pineapple
I friend of mine has a recipe that uses chili powder. When he said that I didn't think that sounded good at all but it turned out to be delicious. Don't know the exact recipe.
