    Ford Fusion

Took a 2009 Ford Fusion for a test drive today and came away impressed.

Nice handling and ride with little road noise compared to some vehicles I've been in. Seems like a lot of car for the sticker price.

But it's a Ford and the quality concerns me. Anyone have a Fusion? Is the quality there or continue on to the Honda and Toyota aisle?

I'm of an age where the Ford vehicles we had tended to not hold up. (neither did the Chevys either) .

So I'm a little reluctant to pull the trigger on the Ford. I got 12 years out of my last Nissan and trying to get my head around a Ford or any American vehicle being in that quality range.

    Any issues with it?

The guide says between 20-25 mpg. Is that what you've experienced too?

The only vehicle I would own is a ford. My last 4 trucks were fords and my wife has had a couple fords now.

I have a 2008 Fusion and love it. I get about 29 mpg, but a lot of that is driving two lane roads, and it's a for cylinder.

We got a 2012 Jetta TDI with all the bells a whistles a couple months ago. Great car, Germans know how to build them. 50 MPG is nice too...

I wouldn't worry about reliability of a Fusion.

    Re: Ford Fusion

I test drove a Fusion when we were looking for a replacement car 2 years ago. I really wanted to like it, because it was a nice car, I just couldn't get over the fact that when I stomped on the gas for emergency acceleration I got nothing. That's a deal breaker for me living in a large city.

I really liked the Nissan Altima and that's what we went with. I'd also look at the Hyundai Elantra.

    Re: Ford Fusion

I was looking at Fusions and Altimas a few months ago and really liked them. However, I ended up getting the Kia Optima instead. Gets about 26/35 MPG and has some nice power for only a 4 cylinder. I also liked the style better than the Fusion.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Fusion though. I believe it has ranked the #1 mid-size sedan for a few years now.

They used to be ****ed over rebuilt dodges and/or fix or repair daily's. Not anymore. I would buy one.
I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.
