Can Apple really take down Google?
No.
Will Google overtake Apple - No.

Re: Apple vs. Google
There's plenty of space in the market for them to coexist.

Re: Apple vs. Google
Google makes money from ads. Apple sells hardware and software. Both will exist.

Same thing with Search. Bottom line is that they'll each find their niches and coexist.

HATE APPLE. Hate everything about that company.
If you can't beat 'em, sue 'em.
Samsung supplies many parts to Apple and they still ***** about them.

Source: my ***. Couldn't the same theory apply to Hotmail and Yahoo? While they both still exist, they are from dominant anymore.

Love Apple. Love everything about the company and their products. Samsung and Google stole form Apple and deserve to be sued. I am the true patriot here.

Source: my ***. Google is completely dominant in maps and calendar compared to Apple. They also have a better photo sharing tool with Picasa/Google+. The wallet/passport piece was a nice add on to iOS 6 though.

Apple has done their fair share of theft as well. Voice commands (siri), status bar pull downs, hell the maps program looked pretty familiar as well. I would love for Samsung to grow a pair and just stop selling Apple their chipsets. Apple is just ****** that their phones are a generation behind. The only thing that is being released in ios6 that isn't on android already is passport. But of coarse it is Google that's stealing from Apple.

Good luck getting those retina displays, if like you said, Samsung ever grows a pair.

Re: Apple vs. Google
Google is king, Bing told me so. I do believe Bing is a more efficient search engine but as a whole Google is in a world of it's own. Google, Facebook, etc can take a small marketshare if they make successful hardware(Facebook will soon) but Apple will always be the Rolls Royce of hardware if you will.

It is hard to believe some of the things we allow to be patented that are being sued over. Only 1 company can have you swipe a finger up to answer a call. Most of it is stupid **** like this they are suing each other over. I think a equal amount of blame could be put on the patent office for allowing these insignificant things to be patented in the first place.
In the end I think both businesses will end up in partnership agreements with each other. As they both have strong cases against the other on certain points. All these lawsuits are and to gain leverage for that final round of negotiations.

Re: Apple vs. Google
De-emphasize search and the web so that the only information I'm getting is the information Apple deems relevant? No thanks. Although admittedly Google does this to some extent with their search results, it seems like de-emphasizing searching is another step in the wrong direction.

Re: Apple vs. Google
I find it funny macclone talking about android 'stealing' from android, when the last 2 versions of iOS have been chock full of announcements of 'new features' that android came up with a long time ago.
