Campustown Property Management's Resort-why hasn't construction began?

What is the deal with The Resort? It has been advertised to be done August 2012 but the house on the lot is still there, condemned since December. I'd like to know if it will be done this year or not as that is the main reason I signed with them. Anybody work for them or know what's going on?

They're probably struggling to get a permit of some sort. That's my guess considering the City of Ames is involved.

It could be like those Grove apartments: completely assembled within one month.

Some Mark guy in their office said back in beginning of March that they were going to begin construction at the end of the month...they were just waiting for it to not be wet out.

I didn't want to argue, but it wasn't too "wet" out to tare down that old house...bunch of idiots in that office.

From what I hear at work this is the response I will agree with. College kids do unite in ******** about some some property owner in Ames.

I wonder if there is some sort of penalty if the place isn't done by the agreed move-in date. If a renter were to back out now they'd lose their deposit. I'm sure if the property isn't done, the construction company will be penalized (if they even have a contract done). I would talk to them about getting some sort of compensation for not having the place ready.
