Re: Father's Day - What to do?
My wife and kids are taking me out to eat and then to the Cap City League games Sunday night. A perfect Father's Day.

He got me a half spa day for Mother's Day, so I thought this was a fair/nice reciprocation. Hall Pass -
Re: Father's Day - What to do?
I don't know if my father's day has been cancelled or just postponed. My grandson is having an operation so my wife offered to be nurse for a week. My daughter of course has the same obligation. My other daughter is off to Wisconsin. I have not heard anything from my son (not unusual as I would not expect to hear from before at least Saturday ). I think all of my friends will be doing the Father's Day thing.
So this could be an unusual one for me.

Currently? Or ones that used to post too? I think I can name five...but I haven't been posting a lot lately.
What about a gift idea for a dad to be?

What about a gift idea for a dad to be? Let him sleep in a whole bunch now. -
Re: Father's Day - What to do?
I think for my husband, his first gift will be me taking the kids out of the house in the morning so he can sleep in (he usually sleeps in on the weekends, but a noisy one-year-old often wakes him up). The past few years we have taken a picnic lunch onto campus and eaten under the campanile. He is getting a few gifts, two of them for daddy/daughters dates (range tokens to Veenker so he can take them to practice and something for his trip I'm setting up for him, his Dad, and our oldest 2 to go see a Cardials/Brewers game in St Louis in Aug). His birthday is Tues, so he'll have more stuff coming. Last year his b-day was on Father's Day and hated it.
How soon is the Dad to be going to be a Dad? You could give him a hospital survival kit if baby is coming soon. Snacks for him, change for the vending machines, iTunes gift card to download new music (my hubby tried to drown out the hospital noise by sleeping with his iPod)--that kind of thing. I always did a new picture frame with a new/current pic for Father's Day, something he could put on his desk at work.

Re: Father's Day - What to do?
Playing golf Saturday in Riverside with some other Dads. My wife works every weekend, so myself and the kids will prob go eat lunch at the hospital with her, then come home to swim and whatever else. My dad is out of town on vaca, so he will get a phone call from me.

Re: Father's Day - What to do?
My wife had knee surgery yesterday. The doc told her he wants her up and moving on it, as much as she can stand the pain. In the interest of helping her heal faster, I'm going to make her my beer chaser for the day, whilst I watch the US Open.

Re: Father's Day - What to do?
I am due July 30th. Not feeling great right now, so I'm struggling with what to do for my husband for fathers day. I am usually great with presents for him, but exhaustion has taken over my creativity!
(and I am a girl who has posted on this site for years - to answer the post about girls on this site)
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl.
