Mediacom Going All Digital?

When is this supposed to happen in Ames? I got a letter from them but I cannot seem to find it, I must have thrown it out. Also what new channels am I going to get? Anyone already all digital?

It was supposed to happen in June 15th. I have no idea when the new channels are coming. If you already have a box or HD ready TV, you wouldn't notice the change.

The switch got pushed back because they sent me another thing in the mail, I had to go get one of those conversion boxes. I know they are supposed to be putting out new channels but I don't know what they are or when they are releasing them. Hopefully National Geographic is included.

I know that the change was coming some time, but I don't know what it means wither. I have an HD TV already. Are we going to be getting more HD channels? One thing I have noticed is that the current HD Channels like NBC, and ABC are no longer avaiable. Don't know why though.

And as for what new channels you get, it's Mediacom. They're not going to throw out new channels to the consumer without jacking up your bill.

Yes, it affects everyone who has mediacom in Ames. If your TV is older than 2007 or something you have to go get a conversion box so that your TV isn't blacked out. Now if your landlords pay your cable I'm not sure exactly what you do besides talk to your landlord.

Hope I'm not going to get screwed. Not sure how old my TV is but I have a digital dvr receiver so I'd think that I'm fine.
