Probably not the right way.
But I don't know if I believe the mother by saying that he didn't know about her child being a problem. Either there was a lack of communication with the mother/father or she doesn't want to admit it.

I just like how the mother is in denial on the whole thing. I'm not saying what the teacher did was right, but these parents need to get it together.

What's sad is now all of the focus is on the teacher, no attention is given to the fact that this little brat was picking on other kids.
Do I think in today's world that this is a practical form of punishment? No.
But, if every bully was punished this way, I bet there would be way less bullying going on.
Kids today have no concept of consequence due to the tree hugging, meddling, everyone is special, no one loses, politically correct ridiculousness that we have going on these days.

Um, yeah, that's child abuse and that "teacher" needs to be locked up for a long time.

In high school we had a kid just tourture the little helpless nerdy kids. Would just break their stuff and push them down. A kid i knew went and hid outside his house w a ball bat and waited for him to come home and beat the crap out of him. Broke his arm fractured ribs ect. He was wearing a ski mask and all black ect. He told the kid if his bullying persisted, he wouldnt survive the next attack. The kid never did anything in school again. He did however stab a guy something like 12 times in a mcdonalds a few years later.

6 year old bully, come on, you can't be an effective bully at 6. Texas loves their biblical revenge stories.

Trying to stop bullying by being a bully to a bully? Seems logical.

Maybe you should stop placing the blame on the bully and start placing the blame on the kids that don't have enough confidence to defend themselves? Man up and confront the bully instead of being a whiney little ***** and crying to anyone that will listen.
Just playing devil's advocate, but your response is no less ridiculous than mine.

Re: Is this the way to deal with a bully?
I think everyone agrees the teacher will be in serious trouble and will lose her job etc...
But my money is the kid was a complete whack job. I coached a kid baseball awhile ago that I had no control over and did things to other kids and myself that I can't even describe. I met with the parents and they were shocked and in denial. He was not on the team anymore after that. I could see a teacher snapping if they had to deal with that for 8 hours a day. (again not saying its right)
To an extent I wish we could go back to the days where kids where scared of their parents and teachers as a society.....there would be ton more respect IMO. And yes there are many parents that raise great kids and are doing it right. But there are tons that are just jerk offs.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -
