Fear based marketing plays a huge part in selling a lot of things.

In all seriousness, I was told by a very High up at what was pioneer to just never eat organic tomatoes. other than you "should" be fine. But He wouldn't feed that crap to his family.
Small world, I know a former VP of R&D at Monsanto that won't feed organic anything to his family either.

One of my favorite terms is "organic standards". Talk about an oxymoron.

Love to visit organic producers and discuss proper manure composting. Scary what they think they know. I'm surprised more people haven't gotten the squirts or worse.

    Re: Organic Fruit

Organic is far less regulated than standard food sources. They use plenty of pesticides, the difference is the pesticides they use have to be from organic sources, extracts from plants and such. Some of these organic pesticides have been known to cause liver and kidney diseases or can also function as nerve toxins.

Normal synthetic pesticides have years and years of science behind them to make them safer for us and with as minimal effect on the environment around them as possible.

Also, a great majority of "organic" food in this country comes from China., where its subject to their food regulations and is in now way helping your local small farmer.

We are lucky enough to live in a country where we have the choice to choose organic if we want. I never would, but to to each his own.

Am I missing something on this? I am not really sure why everyone is so impressed with this Organic stuff. Everything I have read from neutral parties and scientists say it is not any more healthy than anything else. So what gives?
Organic foods are a scam. I read a study a few years ago that found not only were organic foods no better for you nutritionally, the samples from stores were covered in fecal matter.

    Chemicals are good for you.
