Sandusky Trial Presecution Closing Statements
The Prosecution Delivers Closing Remarks - Onward State
McGettigan began his remarks with a slide projected on a screen, which read:
The Defense - Admit what you must.
- Deny what you can.
- Call everyone a liar.
- Make counter charges.
- Allege a conspiracy.

Re: Sandusky Trial Presecution Closing Statements
The judge threw out 3 of the charges so I think that leaves 48 remaining. I think they should find him guilty of 47. Then when the verdict is read they can read the first one and say not guilty just to get his hopes up.
Then they can read the 47 guilty verdicts just to dash his hopes.
The bad part is they will probably set sentencing for about 3 months from the verdict so he will most likely remain out on bail waiting for that.
They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there. -
Re: Sandusky Trial Presecution Closing Statements
I don't see any way he doesn't get a guilty verdict. The defense's case seemed weak to me, but then again, they don't have much to work with. I was very interested in hearing Sandusky take the stand, but his team did what was probably the smart thing and advised him not to.

he couldn't handle an interview with Bob Costas let alone a cross examination from the prosecution

Was just about to say that, and post this:

He's not believable and he gives answers that make you wonder if he even realizes what he's saying.

Re: Sandusky Trial Presecution Closing Statements
Rumor is if Sandusky testified the defense was going to call his step-son to the stand and apparently the step son has less than good things to say.

Sandusky's adopted son, Matt Sandusky, was reportedly set to take the stand for the prosecution if Jerry Sandusky chose to testify in his own defense. Sandusky's son contacted the prosecution after the case had began and offered to give up damning evidence in the case against his adopted father, according to NBC's report.
Wonder what the damning evidence was

Therefore it would be character evidence that wouldn't be allowed unless the defendant took the stand, testified, and opened himself up to it.

Re: Sandusky Trial Presecution Closing Statements
It makes sense for Sandusky to not go to the stand. Every time he's talked he has hurt himself and made himself look creepy.

It also allows the prosecution to introduce more evidence than they otherwise would be allowed too, for the sake of impeaching (essentially, discrediting) the witness.
