Couldn't the family counter-sue or something for court costs?

Re: 11 year old Little Leaguer sued for injuries
Ugh, the is no way this should have even gotten this far. Something needs to be set up to stop this stuff. Like if you lose, you owe triple the amount of the law suit to the defendant.

Re: 11 year old Little Leaguer sued for injuries
I thought this sounded bad until I read.
is suing for the loss of ''services, society and consortium'' of his wife.
If he isn't able to consortium with his wife them he probably deserves some money.
In a serious note if sounds like the dad might cave due to the court costs etc and settle out of court so she'll probably get paid.
The lady should be counter sued for twice the amount for picking on a kid. If that isn't possible I vote for vigilante justice in cases like this. Every person that is out raged about this should call the local pizza joint and have 10 pizzas delivered to this lady's house, sign them up for lot's of junk mail lists, give their name to the Jehovah Witnesses as people that are very interested in joining, tell Fran McCaffery she has a outstanding diamond in the rough goofy looking high school basketball player son so he starts showing up and whatever other annoyting thing a person can think of.

Couldn't the family counter-sue or something for court costs? I am not a lawyer, nor am I real familiar with New Jersey Civil court system, but I believe they could counter sue for reasonable attorney fees. The court costs would actually be paid by the plaintiff not the defendant at 1st. The plaintiff would then request to be reimbursed in the suit for these costs.
