The lady that works at the Ames location is always really cheery and helpful, the guy a little less so.
My main problem is when a tech does have to come to your place the appointments seem to always be several days out, even for what seems like a basic thing like switching out a box or something.

Re: Mediacom blows
Blows is putting it mildly. When we moved to our current home, we tried to get their Internet but they could never actually install it so it worked. Then a few years ago, our cable would go out for days intermittantly for months. Happened to all of the neighbors too. When the repair guy came to the house, he called me a lying b!tch in front of my kids. When I reported this to Mediacom, I got zero response. Needless to say, all the neighbors in at least a six block radius dropped them and have some kind of satellite service.

Just had this exact same thing happen to my girlfriend. She was suppose to get internet and cable switched to her new place here in CR last week and she wanted to switch out her regular box to an HD one. They made her reschedule until today just to change the box. How hard is it to have your van stocked with regular and HD boxes? I cant imagine this is that of an uncommon request.

Interesting to hear the positives every now and then.

Did she tell them that she wanted it switched at the time she scheduled it? That would have been the smart thing to do. My guess would be that those techs are given boxes at the beginning of their day going by the type of jobs they've been assigned.

Interesting to hear the positives every now and then. Yeah, I worked in a call center years ago. People don't generally call in to tell you "everything is working great, just wanted to let you know". Whether you work in call center, follow forums, or just talk to friends, you're always going to hear the bad things. It's not generally human nature to post in a forum or tell someone about a positive experience.

Re: Mediacom blows
when it works it's great, but it seems like they have to come out every 3-6 months to replace something.
this past month my internet has been dropping every 15 minutes or so for a few seconds, and it took 3 appointments over the course of a month to get it corrected
