Shower drain backing up in the basement
We've had an issue with our shower drain in the basement (unfinished part of the basement) backing up when we get a lot of rain for a week or so afterwards. We don't ever use this shower, and since it's not a finished part of the basement it's not a huge deal unless we forget to take the shop vac down after a rain. We had roto-rooter come out about 2 years ago and they fixed it and gave us some stuff to pour down it once a month which worked for a while, but it's back now.
We're going to be going on vacation and would like to have it fixed before we go just in case. Anybody have any suggestions or good/bad experiences with anybody around that would be helpful? Thanks!

Don't worry, it's never going to rain again.

We had the same problem with a basement floor drain. Draintech came out and
took care of it -- and the guy who did the work had more teeth than tattoos.
Ends up being a pretty messy operation, but the guy cleaned it all up very well.
Don't remember the exact charge, but it was fair.

it sounds like your footing drains are hooked up to your sanitary sewer line. if you get them disconnected and ran into a sump pump probably fix everything.

Sounds like your house is going to flood. Heres what I would do.
1. Get out of house and never come back.
Or, if you like this house, you have another set of options
1. Get out of house
2. Buy a boat
3. Take boat in house.
