A woman I know has a car loan with a car financing company. She had a license but he had the job and no license. Can someone tell me how this was done? Is she the owner and he is the co-signer? I am really stumped on this situation.

She has a drivers license, her ex-husband did not. The vehicle is now in default and now are garnishing his wages. Naturally he is mad, is she still responsible for the loan (her credit is now most likely shot) if he is the co-signer? Will they come after her also? He also is in arrears for child support and those will be garnished as we speak.
If she has a job the company she/he got the loan from is able to garish the wages after a court filing/ruling. If he had a job, his wages would be garnished as well.

With or without a license they are both responsible for the debt. If he has child support being garnished out of his check, that will take precedent over the defaulted car loan. If she is not receiving any income it would be hard for them to get anything out of her. They could possibly repo the vehicle if it still has enough value or file a bank attachment if they found were she or he banks.
