I had to deal with these in my back yard last year. Most of them will only hang around until the early fall and either die out or fly away, but if you want to kill them off right away, spraying raid down the hole worked for me. Once you've destroyed the colony, keep the ground thoroughly watered (they like to burrow in dry ground, rather than moist ground).

Very easy to get rid of, get the powder version of sevin insecticide, safe for veggies and stuff. sprinkle a little in the door of their tunnel and the will be gone the next day.
