NCAA Basketball Video Game - When will they release a new one?!

NCAA 2K and the ESPN one have not come out with a new NCAA basketball game since 2010. Do you think they will come out with one next year or ever? I miss those games!!

I believe EA Sports owns the rights and isn't putting one out in the near future.

Speaking of NBA2k10 I just picked it up the other day. It's pretty difficult.

they smartly realized that call of duty now swallows up every video game released in the fall period

plus the ncaa bball games were never as fun as the football or nba ones imo

No time soon unfortunately. It really sucks, especially with how good the NBA 2K series is now. If they made a college game that is the same quality as the last two or three NBA 2K games I don't think I would ever buy another video game.

A lot of people consider College Hoops 2k8 to be the last good college basketball game. They just use updated rosters. I downloaded the demo awhile back, but I just don't think I could get into it with how much I've played NBA 2K11 and 2K12. I'm used to the quality of those games.

I gave up on basketball video games a while ago. My brother got the last NBA game and loves it but I just don't like the NBA so it's not appealing to me. If they came out with a college game I would definitely buy it though now that it has gained on the level of other sports games. They used to be just terrible. NBA Jam is still the best basketball game I have ever played.

Basically heres what happened:

1. People start whining because the NCAA didn't allow names on the basketball players, ******* the two main basketball video game franchises off.
2. 2K realizes they could increase the sales of there NBA games if they end their college game because A) it would improve NBA games and B) No one would ***** about college basketball
3. EA Sports realizes that they could take huge advantage of this in sales so what did they do!? NOTHING. They didn't make any improvements to the game, and the 2k fans didn't buy EA's games, instead they bought the 2K NBA games.
4. EA Sports fails at both NBA and college basketball games, and realizes they could improve COD, Madden, and NCAA Football if they dump these games.
5. People start wanting college basketball the first year no game is out/stop complaining about no names, as just about everyone realized they could just download rosters
6. EA Sports brings back NBA Live, but no one cares
7. People still want College basketball, but the NCAA won't allow names to be released. EA Sports is confused, and 2K doesn't care because their NBA game kicks butt.

I still have the March Madness 2010 game.
Game is pretty terrible. Almost impossible to drive the lane. If you do, your guy basically drops the ball and the other team takes off running with it. That was the main flaw that I can remember.

Funny you say that. I'm not a big video game guy at all, so when I do buy games they are always used. Picked up College Hoops 2K8 for $1.99 in May and am addicted. Great game all around - controls, gameplay, recruiting, modes. And since I don't play anything newer I'm not jaded by the graphics or other quality.

Keep thinking how fun it would be to play as Royce. I might have to look for a roster update, but I play the career mode anyway.

Was in GameStop today to pick up NCAA Football and they told me EA is bringing back NBA Live. I'm not a big NBA fan (though I do have 2k12) but if they boot this back up maybe they consider bringing back a college game. Highly doubtful though..
