I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Pregnancy is a really unsettling time for everyone involved. Yeah, I'm not one to cry very often normally, but baby and phone commercials would do it to me, and I had always thought it was trite when people would cry at those. We had an incredibly stressful pregnancy, and I would cry about it at the drop of a hat.

Re: First Pregnancy
I'm 38 weeks pregnant and cry on the way to work from songs on the radio. Crazy!
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -
Re: First Pregnancy
Keep a pair of scissors handy to cut off onesies that are so full of crap you can't bear to pull it over your child's head. I am 3 for 3 on cleaning poop of the necks of my kids when they were babies.
Worst happened when I wasn't even there. Middle child was just over 1 and filled up her carseat on an hour-long trip for my wife. Then she began examining it. I cleaned it up for my wife when she got home. It was disgusting.
WOrd of advice I got from a very wise dad. Assemble the crib in the room you are going to keep it in because "they don't design that **** to fit through doors"
I knew that, but my wife (who began her "nesting" phase way too early) decided to start putting it together when I was at football practice. Got home and had to take a good chunk of it apart to get through door to the nursery.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -

I'd test again in a few days. Use the first morning urine, the hCG concentration is highest at that time. You can call your OB/GYN to get a beta done, but some of them refuse to see you until X number of weeks. Those blood tests are more reliable than pee tests, though.
Is she having other symptoms? My first pregnancy symptom has always been really weird, vivid dreams - and that's pretty common. Lots of women get breast tenderness. Nausea usually waits until about six or seven weeks to show up, and not everyone gets it. (Lucky bastards.)
Make sure she's taking her folic acid every morning, this is the time when it's most important.
And lastly - congrats and good luck! Did you sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night?
Hope is not a method. Soon is not a time. -

That's how I learned it.

We've kind of gone through hell with the whole getting-and-staying-pregnant thing, so I've read so very, very much more on the subject than is normal. I've had several friends call me to ask "the expert" what something could be in their pregnancy when it went weird. I guess that's a... compliment? -

The hospital is going to charge you for it anyway, so might as well grab them. I forgot about this! Hahaha!

Re: First Pregnancy
just read this thread mostly buzzed.
For a no-longer newlywed getting pointed abdominal glances from family members, this is damn good birth control. I have no current desire to clean up blow outs.

Dude, I said I'm married. And I married a ISU grad out of engineering. Hard to beat that.
