I'm still confused as to why that one cop said he was "pleased" that the dog found a sent trail leading away from the lake. I have a feeling the FBI was pleased with this outcome also, and I think we are going to find out something soon.

We have enough cops working on this case as it is, we don't need morons on the internet to spout their opinions about the families. That is Nancy Grace's job as the anti-****** of cable TV. Appears by the positioning in the media they think this is the case. Also appears they think people close to the family know something. Every statement here forward is likely to be designed to put pressure on those that may know something to come clean.
I am one that said to reserve judgement on the family, I still think this but the police seem to be positioning their comments lately that they know something and don't yet have the evidence to prove it...I expect they will do all in their power to get the involved parties to turn on each other. Increasing the reward is one way to do this - we aren't exactly talking about the most educated or successful people here - a $50k or $100k reward will likely lead to information that will lead the police to the girls if their are people that actually know what happened close the case.

Re: Two missing girls
Any more info coming out tonight? I drove by the lake the other day in my route to Iowa City from Cedar Falls, and I didn't see anything going on at all. In fact the lake looked like it was hardly drained at all (even though they were done searching at that point).

I'd be curious to know how much this whole thing cost taxpayers when said and done. I'm not saying two girls aren't worth it but I am just curious

Everything in a civalized society costs money. It costs money to prosecute the drug dealer mom and dad of one of the girls. It costs money to do anything. Of course, it is costing a ton of money to find these girls, but they would obviously spend the money if it was my kids or your kids.
Everytime the police make an arrest it costs money. They don't work for free.

Re: Two missing girls
Five Finger Death Punch told all of us tonight that when the person(s) involved were found, to send them to him. The place got LOUD AS HELL when he said that.

How, if you aren't a suspect, are you there and not coming forward to share anything that might be helpful? That doesn't make any sense to me. You would know you were in the area at the time and if you saw ANYTHING you would go tell someone. Seems obvious.

Maybe the mysterious paddle boater has skeletons in their closet they don't want the fuzz looking at.
