I get what you bike riders (i ride on trails) are saying, I really do. But if you are riding on a 2 lane road with no shoulder, and you make a mistake and I run you over and you are dead. Im the one going to prison or at the least being pretty messed up about it (not me but the average person).
Seems pretty selfish of you to ruin my life because you have the right to rock your spandex and play tour de france wherever you want.

Don't drive then - you could ruin your life anytime your car leaves the driveway and chances are it won't be because you hit a biker.

Really, why make that last comment. ... It's exercise for some, necessity for others.
We are not wanting to be like Lance out be on the tour. It's recreation and exercise.
Why take shots at it?

I am a selfish exerciser. When I ride, a road bike, I ride to get my workout in. I don't really look at other bikes, I acknowledge other bikers or runners when I make eye contact but I don't make a big deal about it. Also I don't always let people know when I am on their left, most time they have headphones on and its a wasted gesture, I stay as far to left to give them the most room as possible.
My goal is to get the best workout I can get in and get done within the time I have given myself. I never knew there was a us vs them mentality about bikes. I tried both just liked the road bike better.
