Also interestingly the person that pushes the red button is actually the one being "greedy." Because likely that person would use a million dollars to take care of themselves and their immediate family for a moderate length of time. But in doing so they are giving up a massive amount of expected value that in the positive fifty percent of the time could be used to help a lot of people, but they are taking on a lot higher level of personal risk to do that. In doing so being more "selfless."
Of course if the person picks green and wins, then spends all of the money on themselves they are the epithet of greedy.
I personally don't think it'd be greedy to get the mil. Aren't we supposed to take care of our immediate family? And I think in the future, to be able to retire, you will probably need to be a millionaire to live in any kind of comfort.
