Why it hurts when kicked in the junk.

My brother used to catch and took a foul ball off the cup that shattered it. The ball bounced off the cup and was a one hop to the third baseman.

I was an outfielder (and apparently a little better at fly balls that Bos) so I never worried about a cup.

I took a hard bounce pass to the junk in a basketball game. I got fouled trying to catch it. I immediately called for a sub, but we were in the double bonus and I was too ashamed to admit I had just got nailed in the crotch. I bricked the first free throw so bad it made Royce White look like Fred Hoiberg. I was never so happy to see a shot go through the net than I was when I made the second one meaning I was able to gingerly limp off the court and have a seat.

I've always wondered if a girl got hit in the ovaries, would the pain be comparable? I know there is a lot more "defense" for ovaries being that they are located within the abdomen. But what if they got a direct blow for some reason?

Probably not, though I hear getting kicked in the vagina isn't the greatest experience.

I shared a hospital room once with a hockey player who had taken a direct hit from a puck. One of his nuts swelled up so big they had to remove it.

The worst is when they are the perfect height that when you are holding them their feet end up at sack level. Then they squirm or try to get you to put them down and BAM you drop like a rock.

My kids are all now big enough that isn't an issue, but I'd recommend a cup during those years.

In little league we had a female baseball coach (husband and wife coaching duo). She was pitching batting practice and I drilled one back at her and got here right in the crotch. A man wouldn't have recovered, but she stepped right back up and pitched another ball.

Im sure it hurts, but there is no way its even close to being the same sensation.

For reference my mother and father in law both had kidney stones at about the same time. She said the pain of kidney stones was say worse than child birth. He said it was no where near as bad as getting kicked in the nuts.

Next time I'm visiting I'll kick her in the vag to see where on the scale it falls.
