I'm surprised how many football players don't wear a cup?$?#? Yet, They all wear mouth guard (it's required in HS) ???

Yep, took a pop fly to the junk once. I think I may have blacked out for a couple of days. Had a quarter in my pocket at the time which happened to be floating in front when the ball hit. Had a nice quarter sized ring shape on the boys. Lucky I was able to have children.

One kid on our football team got kicked in the junk by the opposing team's punter when he went to block the football. It swelled up to the size of a softball by the time the game was over and he had to go to the ER after the game.

To be a little more specific - it's due to intense stimulation of the Vagus nerve. Apparently some people can have it triggered by a hit or contact with their belly button too - especially for women.
