Electrician help- ceiling fan
Installing a new ceiling fan which has a remote control in it, and I have a wiring question. My old fan had separate wall switches to turn on/off the fan and light separately.
The instruction manual sucks balls, but from what I can gather from reading online, in order to use the remote with this thing, I am going to have to cap off the hot from one of the switches and only use the other (and remote) to control the fan and light. Is this correct? My wife wants both switches to work like they used to, so she doesn't like that idea. Thanks in advance.

Re: Electrician help- ceiling fan
I had a similar situation and basically had it wired to run off of one switch (actually 2, as I have 3-way switches for it). I don't think you'll be able to get one switch to work the fan and one switch to work the light with the remote installed.
