Stub Hub

Hey guys,

I just ordered some tickets through Stub Hub and after typing in all my information to buy the tickets, I received a message saying to prevent any information getting out, my account has been locked. It said I need to call them immediately. I call them and they say since it involves a transaction they can't take care of it tonight and they will have someone call me tomorrow.

I've never bought anything from ebay or amazon or these types of sites. My friends have had success with ebay, which is what owns Stub Hub, so I wasn't so worried about it. However, with the events that have occurred tonight I'm becoming skeptical. Is Stub Hub trustworthy, and have any of you had troubles with them in the past?

I've gotten tickets off stub hub before, actually just got some today, and have never had a problem with them.

I got that message with paypal last year. I called them and they fixed it right away.

Totally depends on the event. I've been cheap Royals tix below face value in the fall because, well the Royals aren't worth face value at that time. I just bought Broncos tix for this fall on there at 2x face value as I don't predict them getting much cheaper than that. I've waited and I've bought stuff in advance and it really all depends on the demand for the event.

As for OP, yes Stub Hub is a trustworthy site. Never had/heard of any issues with them.

It depends - if the tickets are in high demand, there is no guarantee they will get any cheaper. The seller has to select the option to make the price for his/her tickets decrease automatically as the event approaches. The seller can also decide when the decreases should start, and the default option is something like 5 days out. So, I would recommend checking the tickets for the event you want once a week or so just to see how many are available and at what prices, and assuming there are still a bunch left start checking it a few times a day with about a week to go to the event.

Absolutely - I've gotten early season Phillies tickets, purchased 4-6 hours before opening pitch, for one third to one half of face value for weeknight games. For games with bobble-head giveaways, weekend games, or games with big rivals, the prices never seem to go that low.

Football tickets probably will never go that low because there are so few games overall that demand outweighs the supply.

So heres the deal. I bought 4 tickets, then this situation occurred.

They voided the ticket just a few minutes ago. She said the order is no longer counted for and I won't be paying for it and can buy new tickets.

When I log on and buy tickets, it already says I have 4 waiting for me and I have a receipt.
