This. It's not about what happened to him. It's about what happened to his audience. The vast majority of them figured out that he really wasn't that funny, and was in fact, pretty stupid. The "brah" crowd has hung on for a little longer, but his fifteen minutes are pretty much dried up.

I literally have never laughed at him. I remember when he was hyped up several years ago. I watched his show and was like "what?"

I am not sure what anyone found funny about him. Terrible stand up. He was good in a movie where he played a crazy guy wanting to kill people.

I'm with the ones here who don't think Dane is funny. That being said, I am getting kind of tired of comedians being held to the same standard as politicians and religious leaders in this world. They are there to push the limit and crack jokes, sometimes about uncomfortable stuff. It may not always be in good taste or politically correct, but I thought Lenny Bruce broke down the censorship barriers years ago. I have to give the guy a little credit for pushing a boundary. It seems out of his normal comfort level as far as his comedy goes. I think the focus should more be on the fact that it wasn't funny, which is pretty much all of his material.

Dane Cook has always sucked. I have tried to watch his shows a couple of times and it is torture.

I'm all for "pushing boundaries" or whatever, but you don't crack jokes about things like this within the week it happened, comedian or not

I did like some of his standup like BK lounge, the nighmare one, and the one about shopping with your gf or wife.

Here is the joke since the link to tmz didnt work for me. I use to enjoy his stand up, not because he's a funny comdian but because I always thought he was a good story teller.

Dane's joke about the shooting is actually a rip off joke from Adam Ferrara (fast forward to :28 if youre impatient), just saying.

Yeah something like 9th grade maybe? I'm 24 now and have long-since realized what good stand-up comedy is.

I'm all for offensive material and envelope pushing comedy but this is just too much. I mean just read what he said...

Cook can be heard saying ... "So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie ... And I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap ... yeah, spoiler alert.”Cook continued ... “I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like ‘ugh ******* shoot me.’”A bunch of people in the crowd laughed ... some people groaned. For the record, the shooting occurred exactly one week ago ... 12 people were killed and 58 were injured with many people still hospitalized.
