    FIBA rules

When did FIBA get rid of the the trapezoid free throw lanes?

    What other rules are different?

I know that traveling is new to the guys in the NBA.

I was wondering the same thing about the lane.

I think this might be the first big international tournament with the new lanes. They were talking about nba 3 point lines being used in 2016.

On a different note of the same topic... I wish the NBA were officiated like FIBA ball

I could get behind that, also add in the stricter rules on dissent. Nice to not have to watch 3 -4 grown men whine after every foul.

I dont like the no goaltending rule in international play. Just looks awkward when they snatch it right of the rim.

I haven't noticed that yet! I bet that does look strange.

    Re: FIBA rules

FIBA approved replacing the trapezoidal lane in 2008 but didn't go into effect until 2010. They also moved the 3-point line from 6.25m to 6.75m:
