Herman Edwards
He was on Mike and Mike this AM for Golic. Am I the only one who thinks a little bit of this guy goes a loooong way? I used to like him but his over-the-top approach to everything is getting a little old. I had to actually turn the show off after about 15 minutes. He's like that neighbor who thinks he needs to tell you how to go about doing everything. Then throw in the man crush Greenie has for him and it's unbearable.
I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. -
Re: Herman Edwards
I think part of it is his energy level is SO high. Maybe it's an act, but regardless, it's starting to wear thin.
On a related note, Greeny's man-crush on Cris Carter yesterday got really sickening really fast.

Re: Herman Edwards
Yeah greenie has that natural side-kick style about him, when sitting next to these HOF players. And he doesn't exactly try to break that stereotype when talking with these guys.
But I usually like Herm. He definitely gets old though. I think he tries too hard to 'keep it real'. I love it when he gets really passionate about something and in the first syllable of a sentence he's about to say, he starts to stutter.
Tha tha tha tha tha that bothers me!
I think he's just trying to constantly create his own character and personality/brand. Which is especially important for guys that do radio.

Re: Herman Edwards
I can't listen to Mike & Mike...not a fan. I'm not convinced that Herm is genuine. Over the top, as mentioned before.

Re: Herman Edwards
Did he fake fight with Greenberg too?
No show sounds more fake than that show

infinitely better.
T & T is like a slow motion car wreck that repeats itself every morning. At least M & M discuss sports the majority of the time.

Re: Herman Edwards
I listen to Mike & Mike because they are much better than KXNO. I mean MUCH better. I get to hear interesting things about sports (#1) and I can hear the insight of guests and not just the hosts (#2). Sorry but I don't have much interest in the weekly spots with the manager of Wells Fargo Area or Iowa Speedway.
I flip during commercials and find myself enjoying 1700 much more in the mornings.

There was a week this past winter when I was listening to T & T and 3 out of the 5 days, they were talking about womens college basketball; 2 of those days being about Drake womens basketball. Thats about the time that I made the switch to 1700 in the morning

I agree with this and most of the other sentiments in the thread about Herm, but I think he's doing what ESPN is asking him to do -- create a character. I bet in real life he would be a genuinely great guy to hang out with when he wasn't being asked to entertain.
