It would be very easy to describe how some idiot would target the main road the leader of the free world would travel on.
Guarding every overpass makes sense and it isn't really costing the government that much money. Plenty of government officials that aren't very high have security and drivers.

Re: Police on bridges
The president is virtually a prisoner. You couldn't even make run to Jimmy Johns without a throng of security and press.

Re: Police on bridges
Tell racists in the south to quit threatening his and his family's lives.... It's not his fault.

Since he did talk about farm policy and wind energy, this was not considered to be a total campaign visit. All that means is we all helped pay. Enjoy the visit...they all to it and wonder why we get frustrated.

Re: Police on bridges
Are a lot of the complaints here about him or about the president. I think a lot of people complain about him, when secret security dictates what precautions are needed, not him.
Any president would need this type of security, and also tie in visits to state fair, etc.

Re: Police on bridges
When I was little, my parents took us kids to Des Moines to see Reagan speak, and the ONLY thing I remember is the amount of cops I saw along the way.
